Our Process

The CMG Navigation Process

There’s a destination you need to reach, and we help verify your course is good through the entire journey. This is an active process of monitoring, adaptation and personal guidance.

Point A to Point B

Where you are now and where you want to go – these are first and foremost in our process to understand your needs. We sit down with you to discuss your current personal and financial priorities, as well as your aspirations and long-term objectives.

Your Point A may include:
  • The various facets of your current financial affairs
  • Your personal priorities and values
  • Your family life and key relationships
  • Your professional life and sources of income
Your Point B may include:
  • Your target retirement age and desired lifestyle
  • Building an estate for your children
  • Transitioning out of a business
  • Moving or making a major purchase
  • Reaching a new balance in your professional, personal and family life

Plotting the Course

We begin plotting the course to your Point B, which may involve multiple goals and timeframes with various financial checkpoints along the way. We build a comprehensive financial plan that will become your living strategy as we navigate the markets.

Our planning process includes:
  • Evaluating all components of your financial picture
  • Creating estimated trajectories for cash flow, income, expenses, growth and tax
  • Assessing your needs and designing solutions to reduce unnecessary risk

In Transit

Once we present our recommendations to you, we implement all agreed-upon strategies and begin our ongoing processes. We work toward various financial checkpoints and help you navigate changing conditions.

Implementation of your investment and wealth plan includes:
  • Opening accounts and completing administrative steps
  • Allocating assets according to your investment plan
  • Initiating the monitoring, reporting and communication process
  • Proactively seeking potential signs of major market shifts

Your CMG

Your Course Made Good is something we continuously monitor and manage, so that we can help keep your financial affairs in order while life happens. It's about keeping up with day-to-day needs, while proactively managing your long-term strategies.

Our ongoing CMG process includes:
  • Monitoring external forces like market shifts and life events, as well as internal forces like new interests and priorities
  • Designing updated plans and introducing new strategies to reflect these changes
  • Making tactical shifts to your portfolio in the event of an extreme market fluctuation
  • Maintaining a communication and reporting process that keeps you informed and keeps our team up to date on your current needs and priorities

In nautical terms, Course Made Good is derived from a formula and a set of calculations. Our approach is similarly disciplined and process-driven.
